In the Won Sangha, everyone is a teacher and student at the same time for everyone has their own particular strengths and weaknesses in various areas of study, and needs to learn and grow in the areas where they might not be so strong. As there is no hierarchy between the ordained and the lay persons in Won Buddhism, lay persons are also presiding and giving occasional dharma talks.
