* Prayer
Oh Dharmakaya Buddha, Fourfold Grace!
We pray that You bestow Your dharma power and light on the deceased ¡¦¡¦¡¦ who passed away on ..¡¦., so that (s)he can hold the right view on life and death, obtain freedom from all attachments and defilements. May (s)he be delivered from karmic recycling in lower realms, and be reborn in a Buddha Land. May (s)he attain the Buddhahood and help to deliver all sentient beings into a blissful world.
We truly pray to You for his(her) complete deliverance..................

The enlightenment for which Zen aims, for which Zen exists, comes of itself. As consciousness, one moment it does not exist, the next it does. But physical man walks in the element of time even as he walks in mud, dragging his feet and his true nature. So even Zen must compromise and recognize progressive steps of awareness leading closer to the ever instant of enlightenment. That is what this book is about. In the twelfth century the Chinese master Kakuan drew the pictures of the ten bulls, basing them on earlier Taoist bulls, and wrote the comments in prose and verse translated here. His version was pure Zen, going deeper than earlier versions, which had ended with the nothingness of the eighth picture. It has been a constant source of inspiration to students ever since, and many illustrations of Kakuan's bulls have been made through the centuries.
The bull is the eternal principle......

Secrets on Cultivating the Mind(translated by R. Buswell)

The triple world is blazing in defilement as if it were a house on fire. How can you bear to tarry here and complacently undergo such long suffering? If you wish to avoid wandering in samsara there is no better way than to seek Buddhahood. If you want to become a Buddha, understand that Buddha is the mind. How can you search for the mind in the far distance? It is not outside the body. The Physical body is a phantom, for it is subject to birth and death; the true mind is like space, for it neither ends nor changes. Therefore it is said, ¡°These hundred bones will crumble and return to fire and wind. But One Thing is eternally numinous and covers heaven and earth.¡±
It is tragic. People have been deluded for so long. They do not recognize that .......
